Ultimate Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ultimate Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
Warm and comforting with a hint of cinnamon!

These oatmeal cookies have the perfect combination of buttery crispiness on the outside, and a soft gooey middle!

You can choose what to put in your cookies, but my family always go for the chocolate chips. Some other additions would be:

  • Raisins
  • Cranberries
  • Nuts
  • White chocolate chips

This recipe comes from a couple ladies at my old church! In college I was on the worship team each Sunday and they would take turns feeding us lunch sometimes after church. One of the ladies brought these cookies, they were so good that I asked her for the recipe. And I have been making them ever since!

Storage

These cookies will stay fresh for the first 3 days and keep up to 5. And they freeze wonderfully for up to 2 months.

Which Oatmeal To Use

This recipe calls for old fashioned oats, these will hold up while baking and give you a more sturdy cookie than quick oats.

The How To

First preheat your oven to 375 degrees and gather all your ingredients. Place your butter in a large microwave safe mixing bowl and microwave for 40 seconds. Pour in your sugars and cream with your mixer until fluffy and well combined.

Next, add in your eggs and mix. Then add baking soda, cinnamon, vanilla and salt, mix again.

Finally add flour and mix, then oatmeal and mix. Stir in the chocolate chips with a spatula. Use a small sized scoup for 1 inch sized cookies. Place 15 on each baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes. Until edges are golden brown. Let cool on the pan for 2 minutes and transfer to wire rack or wax paper to finish cooling.

Store in an airtight container or freeze for up to two months. This recipe makes around 60 smaller cookies so I like to keep some out and freeze the rest, then pull them out as we want them, and they stay nice and fresh!
