Easy Easter Lamb Cake
The Easy How-To Using a Boxed Cake Mix
From a fellow mom with young kids, I wanted to share with you easy how-to instructions so that you can make an Easter Lamb Cake with your littles this year!
We had so much fun making an Easter Lamb Cake together, that I wanted to share it with you so that you can make one too! The task seemed intimidating, making a 3D cake, but I’m here for you and hope to make this How-To as easy as possible!
Just remember to have fun! Holidays are about making memories with your kids, I wouldn’t say our cake turned out to be a masterpiece but I was filled with joy when I heard how cute the girls thought the cake looked. They were so happy to help! You can do this Mama!
What to use
The pan, here is a link to what we use each year: Lamb Cake Pan
The cake, I used just a simple box mix from the store!
The frosting, a tub of vanilla frosting form the store as well. Get two to make sure you have enough!
The How To
First start with a boxed cake mix. Make your cake batter according to box instructions. Then, open up your lamb cake pans and spray them liberally with cooking spray. One side has a small hole in it and the other that doesn’t will be your base. Fill the base cake pan with batter up to the top ledge. Set the other pan on top. The cake will rise in the oven and fill into the mold.
Bake at 350º for 40 minutes. You can check to see if the cake is done by poking a tooth pick in the little hole on the top, if it comes out clean its done!
Let it cool for 2 minutes, take off the top pan. And cool in the base pan until completely cool. Then transfer to a serving plate.
Now to decorate! Frost with your favorite frosting, I just used canned frosting from the store. (We only used one tub of frosting but wish I had bought two tubs because we came really close to needing more than one!) Place frosting in a piping bag with a large star tip and have fun decorating! Make circular swirling motions to mimic fluffy lamb’s wool.
Finally, decorate around the cake with easter basket grass and jelly beans. Use 2 mini chocolate chips for the lambs eyes and cut a pink jelly bean to use as a small nose. There you have it, a no sweat Easter Lamb Cake!
Let me know how yours turns out in the comments, have fun!
