Caramel Apple Toppings: An Easy Fall Appetizer Board Idea

Caramel Apple Toppings: An Easy Fall Appetizer Board Idea

Welcome Fall with an Easy Snack!

Our family loves this festive Fall Caramel Apple Snack Board. And it was really easy to make. This would be perfect for an after school kid’s activity, a party with friends, or even date night!

My kids got to help assemble everything and then I handed out plates to my family and they each got to dip their own apples and choose their favorite toppings. Then we went down to our basement to watch a fun fall family movie on our mini projector. I got to check “fall movie” and “making caramel apples” off our fall bucket list, check, check. We are well on our way!

If you are interested, here is the kind of projector we use linked here.

THE HOW TO

First, find a cutting board or a large tray. Then grab your cupcake pan or a bunch of small bowls. You can line the cupcake pan with cupcake liners for easy cleanup.

Pour your favorite toppings into each of the cupcake liners. Warm up your caramel according to package instructions, and add some sticks on the side for dipping and you are ready to go!

You can dip your apples in caramel, milk or dark chocolate, white chocolate, Reese’s chips, and butterscotch chips, marshmallow fluff. I like how Samantha Bauchmann from Instagram used a crockpot with a little bit of water and mason jars to warm her toppings, genius!

Topping Ideas

  • Mini M&m’s
  • Cut Up Cookie Dough Bites
  • Crushed Graham Crackers
  • Crushed Pretzels
  • Mini Chocolate Chips
  • Melted Peanut Butter
  • Mini Marshmallows
  • Granola
  • Nuts
  • Coconut
  • Mini Reese’s Pieces
  • Crushed Heath Bar
  • Cut Up Snickers Bar

Make sure you cut up your apples last so they don’t turn brown before its time to do the activity. You can even squeeze a little bit of lemon juice on them to prevent browning.

And finally, let your family or guests assemble their caramel apple slices. It helps to have sticks or forks for dipping first in your caramel or chocolate. And then have fun dipping them into toppings.

Let me know what toppings you chose in the comments!
