Oreo Ice Cream Pie
So delicious! A perfectly creamy dessert!
If there’s one dessert I think of in the spring, it’s an Oreo dessert! This recipe came from my Aunt, and I think it reminds me of spring because she would make it around Easter. I’ve made a few changes to the recipe, to make it smaller and also just the easiest possible to assemble!
This recipe truly is simple. Just a handful of store bought ingredients and 20 minutes (if that!) to assemble. And it tastes so good! You could make it for a crowd or just your family. The nice part is that you keep it in the freezer, so your family could eat on it for the whole week!
The How To
First pull out all of your ingredients. Let the ice cream sit out on the counter while you are working on the first steps. This will help you be able to spread it easily.
Place about 20 Oreos in a plastic zip lock bag. (About 2/3 of a 15 oz package) Crush them into small pieces with a wooden spoon, don’t totally pulverize them! Next, set aside two tablespoons of crushed cookies (for topping the pie!) and pour the rest into a small bowl. Mix in melted butter with a spatula.
Then spray your pie plate with cooking spray, and pour in the cookie mixture. Grab a piece of wax paper and pat the crust to make a smooth bottom layer. You can also use a measuring cup to lightly pack it together.
Microwave the fudge topping for 30-45 seconds and drizzle it onto the cookie crust. Then scoop the ice cream onto the fudge layer. Smooth it out gently. Top with whipped topping and a sprinkle of the reserved crushed Oreos. If at any time while assembling the pie you feel that it is getting too melted, just put it in the freezer for 10 minutes, then pull it out and keep assembling!
Freeze the pie for at least 4 hours, serve and enjoy!
Store the pie covered with plastic wrap. It should last about 2 weeks in the freezer.
I Hope you enjoyed this recipe! Let me know if you liked it in the comments!
