Mix Together:
- 5 cups rolled oats
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Then Add:
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1/3 cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 275°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper (optional).
Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the oats, chocolate chips, brown sugar, and salt.
Prepare Wet Ingredients: In a small bowl, gently heat the stick of butter until melted. Remove from heat and stir in the water and vanilla extract.
Combine: Pour the wet ingredients over the dry ingredients and mix until everything is evenly coated.
Spread and Bake: Spread the mixture evenly onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 60 minutes, stirring halfway through, pressing the chocolate into the oats to make chocolate clusters. Bake until nutty and golden brown. (Be careful not to stir too much so you can get chocolate clusters!)
Cool and Add Chocolate Chips: Remove from the oven and let the granola cool completely.
Store: Transfer to an airtight container and store at room temperature for up to two weeks.
