Ingredients

  • 4 lbs chicken wings drumettes and flats
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat & Prep the Wings

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup. Then place a wire rack on top of the lined baking sheet.
  • Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. This step is crucial for getting the crispy skin.
  • Place dry seasonings in a small bowl and mix together. Then, in a large bowl, toss the wings with the mixed garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and baking powder until evenly coated.

Step 2: Bake the Wings

  • Arrange the seasoned wings in a single layer on the racks of the prepared baking sheets.
  • Bake for around 40 minutes, flipping halfway through to ensure even crispiness. Bake until the wings are golden brown and crispy on the outside. Check the inner temperature with a meat thermometer to make sure the chicken has reached 165℉ to avoid over cooking.

Step 3: Toss in BBQ Sauce

  • Once the wings are done, remove them from the oven and place them in a large mixing bowl.
  • Pour the BBQ sauce over the wings and toss them gently to coat evenly.

Step 4: Serve & Enjoy

  • Serve the wings hot with extra BBQ sauce on the side, and enjoy with your favorite dipping sauces or sides like coleslaw or crispy fries!
