- 2¼ cups flour
- 1⅔ cups sugar
- ⅔ cup cocoa powder
- 1¼ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 large eggs
- ¾ cup butter
- 1¼ cups water
- Frosting
Preheat the oven to 350°. Butter and flour 3 round 8-inch pans, 2 round 9-inch pans, or 9x13 pan.
Add all the ingredients to a large bowl. Mix on low for 30 seconds then scrap the bowl with a spatula to make sure all the ingredients are combined. Then beat on medium high speed for 3 minutes.
Bake for 30 minutes for 8 inch pans, 30-35 for 9 inch, and 40-45 minutes for 9x13. When a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack and cool completely for 1 hour.
Frost and serve!
